About Dr. Gregory A. Wood, DMD
Located at 6111 N Davis Hwy, Pensacola, FL 32504, Dr. Gregory A. Wood, DMD operates as a dental implant serving Pensacola in Florida. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.

With 4.1 out of 5 on Google from 20 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for dental implants in Pensacola. Recent reviews are the best guide.
Pensacola is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Pensacola follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Wood and his entire team. From the very first appointment, his professionalism was evident. He combines exceptional surgical skill with a calm, confident demeanor that immediately puts you at ease. His surgical acumen is truly impressive, and he takes the time to explain everything clearly, demonstrating a deep knowledge of his field. I always feel completely comfortable in his care, which says a lot when it comes to periodontal treatment. I also want to recognize his outstanding hygienist team, Kimberly and Ashley. They are both incredibly thorough, knowledgeable, and kind. Their professionalism and attention to detail make every visit smooth and reassuring. They work seamlessly with Dr. Wood and consistently create a welcoming, supportive environment. If youβre looking for a periodontist in Pensacola who delivers top-tier expertise with genuine care and confidence, Dr. Wood and his team are simply the best. Highly recommend!

I had a cracked tooth and had to have it extracted. I chose the nitrous oxide and they numbed with Novocaine. Extraction went easy and fast. Dr Wood and the entire staff were very nice and professional. If you need work like this I'm sorry you do, but nice to have a professional with much experience to do the work.

I am a 41 year old super healthy man. Dr. Wood had to do a bone graph before the implant because of degraded bone from the decades of the missing tooth in the area. His procedure, healing time for the graph, and installation of my implant prior to receiving the crown were all done and timed perfectly. I had no insurance and had come out of pocket for all of it, and I believe the job that he did is worth all of the money spent. Thank you, Dr. Wood!

Dr. Wood and his team have always been amazing, but will get on to you if instructions are not followed. I've been going to his office for at least 20 years, and trust him with all my periodontal care. He never gave up on me when an infection got into my top jaw line. He thoroughly explains my condition and treatment plan before, during, and after each procedure. Dental treatments can be painful, but I completely trust that Dr. Wood's cares for my well-being and dental care.

I attended an appointment per referral from my dentist to see Dr. Woods regarding a bone graft. First, he did not examine my tooth. Next, I was verbally reprimanded by Dr. Woods for not getting an implant that I previously consulted with him about (pre-Covid) as I stated it was too expensive at the time. He vocalized to me that he does not extract teeth (which I was aware of upon my arrival) and emphasized the fact that this would be expensive also, if I wanted to get another implant. I was shocked by the manner in which he approached me in the exam room that I did not even continue with my plan of getting the previously discussed implant installed while I get the other tooth extracted and wait for it to heal. Safe to say, I will never go back to Dr. Woods in my life! This post received two stars only because of his staff being friendly (e.g., Kimberly).

I was referred to Dr. Wood for a consult regarding possible implants for two recently extracted teeth. As expected, Dr. Wood was highly professional and very experienced. My confidence in his ability is extremely high. He is highly detailed explaining his treatment plan. However, despite having recent x-rays in hand, I received a C-Beam CT (360 x-ray) which was minimally covered by my insurances. Staff said this was necessary for the consult. I would expect Dr. Wood could make an evaluation based on the X-rays I already had in hand, given his expertise. In hindsight, I wish I refused the 360 x-ray. I ended up paying a sizable co-pay for a consult despite having two dental policies. I didn't follow up on the implants due to the overall high cost (co-pays included). So basically, I spent a good amount of money on nothing. But, if you have great insurance, I would highly recommend Dr. Wood.

What can I say about Dr. Wood that would want to make you come to see him? Well, heβs simply amazing! Heβs very professional, yet thorough. His staff is accommodating and just a pleasant to see as himself. If you need an implant, like I did, I wouldnβt go anywhere else. Thank you to everyone in this office for caring so much!

Iβm not sure what the bad reviews are about? Dr. Woods was super informative, friendly and alleviated any concerns I had. He spent ample time answering all of my questions. Candy at the front desk was great and worked very hard to accommodate everyoneβs needs. Crystal the dental assistant (or dentist in training? she was very knowledgeable so hard to tell) was amazing! I look forward to having my laser treatment. I will update the review further once thatβs done.
